Route · Bellingham ↔ Seattle–Tacoma InternationalPrivate car service from Bellingham to Sea-Tac Airport covers 100 miles in 100 to 130 minutes, straight down I-5. Starting fares are $350 for a standard sedan, $525 for a luxury SUV, and $790 for a Ford Transit van. It is the longest single run we publish — and before you book it, check whether Bellingham International eight miles away flies where you are going.
This page covers both directions, the honest case for using BLI instead, and connections from Fairhaven, Amtrak, and Western Washington University.
Private car service from Bellingham to Sea-Tac starts at $350 for a standard sedan carrying two passengers, $525 for a luxury SUV carrying six, and $1,020 for a Mercedes Sprinter van carrying fourteen. Bellingham has its own international airport eight miles from downtown. If your route flies from BLI, taking it is almost always the better decision — on time, on cost, and on the amount of your day the airport consumes.
A transfer to BLI is a fifteen-minute run. A transfer to Sea-Tac is a hundred miles and two hours, at more than double the fare. Add the difference in terminal size and security queues and the gap widens considerably further.
So the honest answer is this: check BLI before you buy the ticket, not after. Alaska and Allegiant serve a useful set of West Coast and southwest destinations from there.
Where Sea-Tac genuinely wins is international connections, most long-haul routing, and the days when BLI simply does not fly where you need to be. For those trips, a hundred miles is just the distance — and doing it in a private vehicle at 4:00 AM beats every alternative.
Bellingham, WA
The same passenger, the same day, two different airports. This is the comparison worth making before you book a flight.

International flights, long-haul domestic, most connections, and any route BLI does not serve. Also cruise passengers, since the Seattle piers are on the way south rather than north.
The drive from Bellingham to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport covers 100 miles and typically takes 100 to 130 minutes. It is almost entirely freeway, which makes it more predictable than the island routes but no less exposed to the Everett corridor.
Door pickup anywhere in the city, including Fairhaven and the university area.
Past the Skagit junction. Steady running, rarely a problem.
Halfway. The first sign of mainland traffic on a weekday.
The bottleneck, and the single reason the range is thirty minutes wide.
Dropped at your airline's departure door, not a shuttle bay.
Working backwards from departure, allowing for the drive plus bag drop and security. We confirm your exact pickup when you book — these are planning figures.
| Flight departs | Pickup in Bellingham | Total lead time | Why |
|---|---|---|---|

Sea-Tac → Bellingham
The return leg is priced identically to the outbound for the same vehicle class, and booking both directions together applies the round-trip discount.
This is the leg where a private car earns its fare most clearly. You have landed at Sea-Tac, possibly on a red-eye, possibly after a connection, and there are still a hundred miles between you and your bed. Driving that yourself is the part of the trip people most regret.
Give us your flight number and we track it. Standard pickup is curbside in the pre-arranged pickup area, separate from the rideshare app lot, with exact instructions sent on travel day.
Add meet-and-greet and your driver waits inside at baggage claim with a name sign. On a two-hour run north at midnight, it is the difference between the trip ending well and ending badly.
On raw cash, usually not — and we would rather say so. Sea-Tac's on-site General Parking is capped at $32 a day and $149 a week, and off-airport lots run roughly $13 to $19 a day. For a couple on a short trip, driving is cheaper. On this route, though, the non-cash costs are larger than anywhere else we serve.
| 10-day trip | Cash cost | What else it costs you |
|---|---|---|
| Drive & park on-site | ~$245 parking + fuel | 200 miles on your own car, two 100-mile drives, one after a flight |
| Drive & park off-airport | ~$130–$190 + fuel | The same 200 miles, plus a shuttle at both ends with your luggage |
| Private sedan, round trip | $630 | Nothing. Door to door, both directions, someone else drives |
| Private SUV, round trip, 6 people | $945 | Roughly $158 per person for a 400-mile round trip between six |
Parking figures are Port of Seattle published rates: General Parking $5/hour capped at $32/day and $149/week, Reserved Parking on Floor 4 at $39/day. Off-airport lots quoted at $12.95–$18.95/day. Rates change, so treat these as indicative.

First, check whether BLI flies your route — that beats every option on this page. If Sea-Tac is genuinely required and you are one or two people on a short trip, park at the airport. If you are a group, landing late, or facing a hundred miles of I-5 after an overnight flight, book the car.
This is the longest run we publish, so comfort is worth more here than on the shorter routes. Match the passenger count, check the luggage figure, then size up if you are between classes.
Two passengers with two checked bags. The best value on this route for a straightforward airport run.
Worth the difference on a two-hour trip, and the vehicle we assign for corporate and client travel out of Bellingham.
Sliding doors make child seats easier, and there is real luggage room behind the rear row.
Our most-booked vehicle on this route, and the one we recommend for winter I-5 runs.
One vehicle instead of two, arriving together. Common for university groups and Alaska ferry parties.
Stand-up height for a two-hour trip, and full luggage capacity for a group travelling with everything.
Private car service starts at $350 for a standard sedan, $525 for a luxury SUV, and $790 for a Ford Transit van, one way. Fares are per vehicle rather than per person and include all taxes, fees, flight tracking, and luggage assistance.
If your route flies from BLI, yes, almost certainly. BLI is eight miles from downtown against Sea-Tac's hundred, the transfer costs a fraction as much, and you need roughly half the lead time at the terminal. Check it before you buy the ticket rather than after.
International flights, long-haul domestic, most connecting itineraries, and any route BLI does not serve. Also cruise passengers, since the Seattle piers lie south of you rather than north.
A hundred miles by road, essentially all of it I-5. It is the longest single route we publish.
Typically 100 to 130 minutes. The thirty-minute spread is almost entirely the Everett corridor, which is why we set your pickup against the hour you are actually travelling.
Yes, including Sea-Tac to ferry terminal as a single booking timed against your sailing. Flag the luggage count when you book — Alaska sailings involve considerably more of it than a flight.
Yes. Student and faculty travel is steady work for us, heaviest at the start and end of term when everyone moves at once. Parents can book remotely on a student's behalf.
Yes, and on this route it is also the fastest hour to travel. Pre-dawn departures carry no premium and the fare is identical to any other time.
Yes, door-to-door. Those communities are within our regular Bellingham coverage.
At least 24 hours, and earlier for Alaska ferry sailings, university term dates, holidays, and cruise departures.
Enter your address, your flight, and your passenger count. And if BLI happens to fly your route, we will tell you that too.
